Information for prospective Guest Service Drivers
As a prospective CME driver, you may be wondering what a typical
work schedule might look like. One of the unique things about
the guest service driver position with CME is that there is nothing
typical about our schedule. CME drivers are based in the
resort communities that we serve and can expect to cover varying
routes and schedules each day. If you enjoy a new
assignment every day then this may be the position for you!
An example of a schedule that you may encounter as a Vail-based
driver
0530 AM Show up at our Vail office for daily paperwork and
schedule assignment
0530-0600 Pre trip inspection of your vehicle and review of that
day's pick up manifest
0600-0700 Pick up resort area guests at various hotel and or
private residences
0700-0915 Drive to Denver International Airport (DIA).
0915-1000 Drop guests at DIA airline check in and then take a
break while you await your return trip to Vail
1000-1215 Return to Vail with Resort guests aboard eager to get to
Ski Country!
1215-1300 Drop off guests at various hotels and/or private
addresses
1300-1430 Break
1430 to 1500 Pick up resort guests for a second trip. This
time you'll be going to a regional airport just
west of the Vail area (Eagle County Airport)
1500-1545 Drive to the Eagle airport.
1545-1630 Wait for your return trip to Vail
1630-1715 Return to Vail with guests
1715-1830-Drop off guests at Hotels etc and then return to CME
office for end of day procedures.
Please keep in mind that the above example is just one of
many possible scheduling scenarios that you may be expected to
cover. CME shuttles are on the road at all hours of the day
and night. Schedules may vary widely.
Income for a Colorado Mountain Express Guest Service Driver
As a prospective guest service driver for CME you will of course
be very interested in the compensation you can expect for your hard
work! Aren't we all! Here at CME, we pay our drivers by
the airport trip VS on an hourly basis. In addition to this
"Run Pay" you have the opportunity to receive gratuities for
providing excellent guest service to the resort guests that you
will be transporting. On a monthly basis we estimate
that a first year driver can earn between $1,800 and $2,200
BEFORE gratuities.
